From Center City to Berwyn, Urban Loft Window Treatments Delivers Style and Quality
This local designer has recently expanded her business to Boca Raton.
Claudia Clobes Yudis is best known for her work at Hey Little Diddle, the popular Main Line lifestyle boutique and interior design business she co-owned and operated with her sister for 10 years. After an 8-year stint with her own interior design business, Claudia Clobes Interiors, she decided to zero in on one thing: windows.
Her passion for the specialty became all-encompassing after working at firms both in Center City and nationally, and she could no longer turn her back on her obsession with fabrics.
“I love working with fabrics and curating my own collection,” said Yudis, who founded Urban Loft Window Treatments in 2013. “Textiles make my heart beat a little faster.”
Those textiles are her hallmark, and she works with top fabric houses and window treatment brands to ensure her clients have access to the most stylish and current options. Urban Loft specializes in fresh, modern design paired with simple rustic elements to create a balanced look that’s at home anywhere.
“My favorite treatments right now are Roman shades in linen or woven wood and beautiful drapes with custom details,” she said.
Yudis is centered in Philadelphia and the Main Line, and has designed projects all over the country. She recently began working in Boca Raton, Florida, where she and her husband have a home. Yudis is loving the chance to put a different spin on some of her work.
“My approach to my designs in Boca Raton is all about the sun and the views and keeping everything light and bright,” she said. “Simple, modern, and textural, with lots of white and soft tones.”
Locally, Yudis works with residential and commercial clients and a network of area interior designers, architects, and builders. Her best advice for new clients, or anyone struggling to decide? Go with what moves you — not necessarily what’s trendy. If you pick what you love, those styles will transcend the latest design fads.
“Style is an emotional reaction and you have to listen to how a fabric makes you feel,” Yudis said. “Your heart is your compass and I will help you find your sweet spot!”
From Rittenhouse Square to Berwyn, Urban Loft’s designs pick up on the classic themes of homes in this area, adding a modern twist. With the best fabric collections at her fingertips, Yudis can create the window treatments that fit your life, your style, and your budget.
“I love my job because I love guiding my clients to define their aesthetic,” she said. “Hearing ‘I love my house. Thank you so so much!’ — there’s just nothing like it!”
