Elmwood Zoo Hosting ‘Star Wars’ Day

Use the force to enjoy a fun themed day at the zoo.

If you’re a Star Wars fan who enjoys a visit to the zoo, Saturday is your lucky day: the Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown is holding its annual Star Wars Day.

The event starts at noon on March 11 and features Star Wars characters throughout the park, as well as themed yard games and collections furnished by the Pennsylvania Star Wars Collecting Society.

The 10:30 am Star Wars breakfast is already sold out. A second special event is just for adults: Star Wars Quizzo at the Zoo Brew Bar from 2 to 4 pm, with beers and what the zoo promises are “out-of-this-world” cocktails.

Star Wars Day is free for zoo members, and available at normal admission prices for non-members. The event is expected to draw a big crowd, so those interested are encouraged to order tickets in advance. Click here to buy them.

The next new movie in the long-running series, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, will be released December 15, 2017.

In other zoo news, the adorable jaguar cubs born in late January need names, and Elmwood is asking fans for suggestions. Send your ideas to naming@elmwoodparkzoo.org by 4 pm on March 15 to be considered.
