A Year with Frog and Toad

This show is a favorite for a reason, and the Arden Theatre is excited for its return to entrance another generation of kids. When an eccentric frog befriends a grump of a toad, an unexpected friendship blossoms and anything is possible. Watch as Frog and Toad hop through the four seasons, but not before teaching some important lessons. The whole family will fall in love with this classic and humorous musical. Runs November 23 — January 29, 2017. 

The Wizard of Oz

This classic story is even more fun when brought to life through a musical. You’ll be singing along to beloved songs (“Somewhere Over the Rainbow”) as your children skip on down the Yellow Brick Road into the fantastic land of Oz while learning important lessons about courage, smarts, and love. Runs November 8 – January 8, 2017.

Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol
Walnut Street Theatre
Everyone can find their holiday spirit as they experience the beloved tale of Ebenezer Scrooge. This grumpy old man is anything but cheerful about Christmas. When a mysterious ghost visits Scrooge on Christmas Eve, he takes a surreal journey through Christmases past, present, and future. The family will love this holiday classic and hold each other close as they are reminded to be thankful for what they have.
Runs November 26 – December 22.

 

A Child’s Christmas in Wales

Walnut Street Theatre

This is the Irish Repertory Theater of New York’s adaptation of Dylan Thomas’ classic story. With memories of growing up, plus contemporary and classic holiday music, this is a sweet show for the whole family. Runs November 25 — December 23. 

 

Wilde Tales

Witness history being made as the Quintessence Theatre Group brings to life Oscar Wilde’s beloved children’s tales in a theatrical production.

Alice in Wonderland
Storybook Musical Theatre, 215-659-8550
Journey down the rabbit hole into Wonderland, a mysterious and colorful land with talking rabbits and grinning felines. Children will love watching their favorite animated movie come to life in a theatrical musical. What’s more: Storybook Theatre is celebrating their 25th anniversary this season. Runs December 20-30 at Gratz College Theatre and January 10-14 at St. Joseph’s University’s Bluett Theatre.
