Kid-Friendly Philly Restaurants for New Year’s Eve
Taking the kids down to the waterfront for the 6 pm fireworks? These city restaurants welcome families.
Whether you’re headed to the early edition of the waterfront fireworks, or just want to ring in the new year with your children, a festive dinner is a great way to spend New Year’s Eve.
Brunch: 10 am — 2 pm
Dinner: 4:30 pm — 10: 30 pm
3420 Sansom St., Philadelphia (University City)
You’ve got two choices here: a delectable brunch or a delicious dinner. The restaurant even takes reservations for both (a helpful thing when everyone else wants to celebrate, too). It’s open for dinner from 4:30 — 10:30 pm, so you can either have a short and simple dinner prior to the fireworks or enjoy yourselves afterwards.
December 31, 10 am — 1 am
121 N. Columbus Blvd., Philadelphia (Penn’s Landing)
Whether you want to take the kids to the waterfront for fireworks at 6 pm or midnight, the Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest will keep you fed. Whether you want to go casual with Chickie’s and Pete’s or Village Burger, or go sweet with the Franklin Fountain, you’ll be taken care of. Who needs a prix fixe menu when you’re in the middle of the celebrations, anyway?
December 31, 11 am — 11 pm
420 S. 2nd St., Philadelphia (Society Hill)
For something comfortable and relaxed, for lunch or for dinner, head to Pizzeria Stella. They’ll be offering their regular menu that day for families who want to dine out without the extra fuss. And it’s walking distance from the waterfront, so this place is a win-win.
