Winterthur Reopens

Winterthur is reopening its doors after their winter closing hours, and they’re coming back with plenty of family programming, including new Story Time in the Enchanted Woods, taking place the first and third Thursdays of every month from April through October (intended for children ages 3 — 6).

The Great Narberth Leprechaun Hunt

Expert Fishing Derby

This event is a seasoned fisher’s dream! The lake will be stocked to capacity with plenty of fish, and bait will be for sale on the premises should you need it. You can bring your own rod or rent one, and no fishing license is required. How to win? Catch the biggest fish! Participation admission is $29.99; check in at the farm market.


Spring Blooms at Longwood Gardens

Longwood Gardens is gorgeous all times of the year, but there’s something special about those springtime blooms. Head out to the peak season of spring flora this year from April 1 — May 26 to see over 240,000 tulips, as well as magnolias, dogwoods, wisterias, azaleas, and foam-flowers from Pierce’s Woods to the Hillside Garden and into the conservatory. Opening of Legoland Discovery Center Philadelphia

Brick lovers are already counting down the days to the opening of this 33,000-square-foot attraction, billed as the “ultimate Lego playground.” It will feature a 4D movie, a Lego-themed ride, and 10 themed play areas with millions of Legos.

West Laurel Hill Cemetery Easter Egg Hunt

Family Fishing Derby

Bring the kids to the Orchard Lake at Linvilla Orchards to let them try their hand at fishing! This derby is perfect for beginners, with rod rentals, bait for sale, and no fishing license required. Easter Weekend at Longwood Gardens

Live music in the conservatory, brunch at 1906, wine and champagne at the Terrace Restaurant, and don’t even get us started on the peak spring blooms. Tickets are sure to sell out fast, so be sure to get yours and head out.


Mother’s Day Weekend at Longwood Gardens

May 13 and 14, 2017

Brunch and dinner at 1906 is unforgettable for Mother’s Day! But hurry and get your reservations soon, because this event sells out frequently. There will be live music playing throughout the weekend (the gardens will be open until 8 pm) and the cafe will also be open for dining.

Antique Car Show

Join Linvilla Orchards for a day of viewing restored historical cars. They’ve partnered with the Historical Car Club of Pennsylvania (HCCP) to show more than 250 maintained antique motor vehicles all day long! Admission to this event is free.

Devon Horse Show

May 25 – June 4, 2017

23 Dorset Road, Devon


Do you go to see the horses, or to be seen? Either way, this is fun for the whole family. There’s a big fair in addition to the show, so plan on a lively outing.

Longwood Gardens Main Fountain Garden Reopens

After a two-year, $90 million renovation and restoration, Longwood’s most famous feature returns in time for Memorial Day weekend. The beloved “Fireworks and Fountains” spectacle is back, too, on selected dates beginning May 28.


Raspberry Festival

The raspberry is a finicky berry with small window in which its growth is in season. Head to Linvilla Orchards to pick your own raspberries at the peak of freshness and enjoy this year’s theme to the festival: comedy! Silly Joe will be there to lead the kids with smiles and laughter throughout the day.
