World Set to Celebrate National Breastfeeding Week

Here's how you can celebrate this international event locally.

World Breastfeeding Week will take place from August 1 – August 7, 2018.  This week-long campaign, hosted by the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA), promotes the low cost, life-sustaining and nutritional benefits of breastfeeding.

Highlight events include The Global BIG Latch On–where families gather to nurse their babies in support of each other, and to recognize everyone’s breastfeeding journey is unique to them.

Registered sites where you can participate in The Global BIG Latch On, including the following:

The Maternity Care Coalition

Bryn Mawr Hospital

Breastfeeding Resource Center, Abington

Working mothers who are choosing to breastfeed are invited to participate in Working Wednesday–a social media campaign devoted to celebrating working moms. To learn how to contribute a pumping selfie please visit the official site.
